چکیده

The construction industry is one of the key industries with high potential for circular economy; promotion reuse and recycling demolition waste (CDW) essential sustainable urban development. In this study, a series compaction, California bearing ratio, saturated hydraulic conductivity, particle breakage tests well– poor–graded mixtures recycled clay brick aggregates (RCBs) concrete (RCAs) maximum aggregate diameters 19, 25, 37.5 mm were carried out to examine practical application those unbound roadbed materials in Vietnam. experimental results suggest that amount RCBs added RCAs should be less than 30% when applied materials. addition, it was found mixing proportions diameter, gradation aggregates, initial moisture condition control conductivity. Further, characteristics under compaction carefully examined, percentage increment/decrement, as well newly introduced method estimating fine fraction (<2.36 mm), effective understanding mechanism RCA RCB mixtures.

Investigating properties of fresh and hardened self-compacting concrete made of recycled aggregates

Self-compacting concrete is a new high performance concrete with high ductility and segregation resistance. In recent years, construction material manufacturers have focused their attention on lightweight concrete and have strived to use lightweight concrete, if possible, in load-bearing parts of buildings. Concrete with both self-compacting and lightweight properties is favourable in this cont...

Recycled Polymer Materials as Aggregates for Concrete and Blocks

The potential of recycled waste polymeric materials as a substitute for aggregates in concrete has been investigated in the study. Two different types of waste polymer, namely polyurethane formaldehyde (PUF) based packaging waste and high density polyethylene (HDPE) were recycled and used in the experiment. Concrete and masonry poly block specimens were prepared using recycled polymer materials...

Performance of High-strength Concrete Made with Recycled Ceramic Aggregates

Recent scientific concerns to achieve sustainability in construction have suggested the implementation of using recycled aggregate in concrete because it has the potential to reduce the demand for extraction of natural raw materials and decrease the volume of wastes landfilled. In this respect, this study aims to investigate the suitability of using ceramic tile (CT) and ceramic sanitary (CS) w...

Improvement of Bearing Capacity in Recycled Aggregates Suitable for Use as Unbound Road Sub-Base

Recycled concrete aggregates and mixed recycled aggregates are specified as types of aggregates with lower densities, higher water absorption capacities, and lower mechanical strength than natural aggregates. In this paper, the mechanical behaviour and microstructural properties of natural aggregates, recycled concrete aggregates and mixed recycled aggregates were compared. Different specimens ...
